In Benue, Ortom Announces Date For Inauguration Of Local Government Sole Administrators
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom today disclosed that he would give his assent to the local government chieftaincy law recently passed by the Benue State House of Assembly next Tuesday, 11th October, 2016.
Governor Ortom, who stated this at St. Mary's Catholic Church North Bank, Makurdi during the thanksgiving service marking the 70th Birthday of Sen. JKN Waku also disclosed that Sole Administrators in the state recently confirmed by the State Assembly would also be inaugurated on the same day.
He said with his assent, Third Class and First Class Chiefs would be appointed through a very transparent process, which would be followed by the selection/appointment of a new Tor Tiv.
The governor further stated that government would not interfere with the appointment of the Tor Tiv and urged the people to pray for the right person to emerge.
While also calling on Benue people to support the incoming sole administrators succeed in their assignment, Governor Ortom advised them to take advantage of the hike in the prices of farm produce, especially now that the country was going through recession.
