Who understands how Benue State House of Assembly works?
May 29, 2015 – Governor Ortom writes Benue State House of Assembly seeking approval to borrow N10 billion
June 19, 2015 – The Benue State House of Assembly approves Governor Ortom’s request to borrow N10billion.
Time taken = 3 weeks
August 3, 2015 – The Benue State Executive Council deliberates and approves the memorandum to obtain N28 billion bailout from Central Bank of Nigeria
September 8, 2015 – Benue State House of Assembly authorises the state Governor, Samuel Ortom to access a loan of N28.012 billion from the Central Bank of Nigeria as Bailout.
Time Taken: 5 weeks 1 day
August 30th 2016 – Benue State Executive Council approves the amendment of the local government law to enable Governor Ortom appoint sole administrators for local governments.

October 4th 2016 – Benue State House of Assembly passes the Local Government amendment bill, 2016, which permits the State Governor to appoint Sole Administrator for the 23 Local Government Councils in the State.
Time Taken: 5 weeks
May 13, 2016 – Ortom sends three bills; namely 1. Fiscal Responsibility bill, 2. Public Procurement bill and 3. Public-Private Partnership bill to Benue State House of Assembly
Time taken = 20 weeks 4 days and still counting
April 13, 2016 – Movement Against Fulani Occupation, MAFO submits private anti-grazing bill to Benue State House of Assembly
Time taken: 24 weeks 6 days and still counting
June 16th 2016 – Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has forwarded a bill for the prohibition of open grazing of livestock in the state and establishment of ranches to the state House of Assembly.
Time taken = 15 weeks 5 days and still counting.
