PRESS RELEASE: Benue Urban Develop Set To Demolish More Structures, Calls For Order...
Call to Remove All Illegal Kiosks/Containers in Makurdi Metropolis.
The General Manager, Benue State Urban Development Board, Mr. Richard Agwa has called on all owners of Kiosks and containers built for commercial activities without requisite approval from the Board to remove such immediately as government cannot allow kiosks/containers to litter the metropolis.
In particular, all kiosks/containers situate around the perimeter fence of Tilley Gyado College North Bank, Makurdi should be cleared without further delay as government intends to construct organized Temporary Planning Permits (TPPs) within the area. Owners of kiosks/containers affected by this will be given the right of first refusal should they be interested in the organized TPP.
Failure to comply with this directive will leave the Board with no other choice than to enforce the clearing, removal and demolition of such containers in line with planning laws and the Edict establishing the Benue State Urban Development Board. The general public and owners of these illegal kiosks/containers should note and act accordingly.
Government has designated markets for residents of Makurdi to carryout their business and commercial activities.
