Youths under the auspices of Shangev Tiev APC Youth Forum (SAY) have said they are no longer safe attending meetings in the house of Senator representing Benue North-East senatorial zone, Chief Barnabas Gemade. This is following the alleged beating of a politician from the area at the Gboko residence of the Senator during a meeting last month.
According to a communique issued by the youths after an emergency meeting held last Saturday at the Club House, Gungul, “Chief Gemade has without doubt, proved to be an enemy of the Shangev Tiev nation by his show of hate, disrespect and clandestine schemes to continually subjugate the will and rights of the Shangev Tiev people.”
It continues: “Sen. Gemade has proved to be responsible for the Census Fraud that has suppressed our numbers that has in turn pegged our Council Wards at 4 out of 11 even as we came back from Vandeikya with 3 apiece;
“By arranging for and shamelessly supervising the lynching of the political Leader of the Shangev Tiev nation in his house in Gboko, Sen Gemade has not only lost our respect but the moral right to again see himself as a leader of Konshisha politics except for his clan; Mbajov;
“Following from from the above, no Shangev Tiev indegene is safe in Gemade’s house for any political event except for traitors;
“All Shangev Tiev indigenes and indeed all well meaning Konshisha indigenes are hereby advised not to attend any meeting in Gemade’s house for their safety;
“In line with the APC constitution Gemade lack the constitutional right to call for any party meeting except from the local government party chairman;
“The APC Exco in Konshisha should always insist and ensure that all Party Meetings hold in Tse-Agberagba; the LG Headquarters;
The youth commended Governor Samuel Ortom, Senator George Akume and the State APC Chairman Comrd. Abba Yaro for their sense of justice by entrenching Zoning;
They also expressed gratitude to Rt. Hon. Herman Iorwase Hembe and Hon. Richard Akav Ujege for always standing up for Justice and thereby patiently incurring the wrath and blackmail of Senator Gemade.
The communique was signed by Hon. Nyitar Avuur, the President; Comr. Terhemba Iorzua, the Sec General and Mrs Erdoo Abaa who is the PRO and woman leader.
