SHOCKER! Unidentified Decomposing Body Found Buried in Benue


According to an Ugbokolo based Sanitary Officer who carried out the task of burying the unidentified, unclaimed, decomposing dead body found along Otukpo - Enugu Expressway by Ugbokolo area, the victim was identified as a suspected destitute who was knocked down by a passing vehicle overnight and died.
Idomadiva blog gathered that  the body became a public health hazard  emanating obnoxious odor, fly infestation, rodents, and surface water contermination which he said had resulted in the outbreak of varieties of human related diseases  and has to be saniterily disposed by a competent Environmental Health Officer.
Idomadiva blog  learnt that Rtd Director of health in Benue State, Dr. James Apeh, saw this gory development as an "eye sour" and called on the chairman of Okpokwu Local Government Area for sanitary attention and he gave instruction for sanitary disposal (burial) of the unclaimed body. 
Members of the NPF in the area and the Okpokwu LGC chairperson are said to have turned deaf ears on plea by the sanitary officer to provide fund and the necessary documents for the quick disposal (burial) of the decomposing dead body. NNR learnt however that it took the Council about 78 hours to provide a token of N5,000 only for the body to be buried. According to Mr. Banjos, the Police in the area also asked for "fuel money" before carrying out their constitutional required duties on the decomposing body. The sanitary officer, Apeh Banjos, said he's still owing the youths he called to dig the 6 feets deep grave for the burial
