Foreign Investors Troops Lagos To Invest
Punch-The Lagos State Government on Thursday said foreign investors with a number of new investments were trooping to the state, making it the preferred choice destination for investment.
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode stated this at the opening ceremony of EU-Nigeria Business Forum 2016 on the Victoria Island, adding that the state’s Office of Overseas Affairs and Investment was providing the desired support services to investors.
The governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tunji Bello, stated that investors were guaranteed government’s support.
“We are also committed to providing infrastructure for investors in order to make business transactions in Lagos State a profitable experience,” Ambode added.
He explained that the present administration also recognised the importance of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) which had potentials for job creation.
The governor said an increased cooperation and partnership between EU and the Nigeria SMEs would strengthen SME’s capacity to boost the economy.
The Head of Delegation to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Mr. Micheal Arrion, said EU- Global partnering Nigeria would lead to a more stable economy.
The President of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chief Nike Akande, urged members of the EU business community to put less emphasis on risks in the Nigerian environment and pay more attention to its benefits.
